Student news readership programme
The Wall Street Journal student news readership program targets young people who are interested reading and reporting on the newspaper's articles. Barron's Far Eastern Economic Review and SmartMoney also serve as sister publications. Students interested in being a member of the student readership can sign up to a one-year subscription for $15 per year.
The Student Affairs budget sponsors the program, which provides digital subscriptions for students to the New York Times or Wall Street Journal. The new subscription program offers podcasts and videos. In addition, the program has been expanded to include the Commonwealth campuses. For the next academic year, the printed newspaper will be available but will eventually become entirely digital.
UT Permian Basin membership
UT Permian Basin students and alumni can take advantage of a special membership to the Wall Street Journal. This subscription will be given to students upon setting up their UTPB emails. The College of Business and J. Conrad Dungan Library make this possible.
The UT Permian Basin Men's Tennis team is made up of 15 players and a coach. Students at UT Permian Basin soon will be able to subscribe to The Wall Street Journal. They will be able access the magazine once they have created their UTPB email accounts. The College of Business and J. Conrad Dungan Library are responsible for the subscription.
The conference will include speakers from the industry such as Mitch Mamoulides who is the Midland and Delaware Basin Area Manager for Chevron, Chuck Yates, managing Director of Kayne Anderson Capital Advisors LP and Jefferson G. Parker who is managing director at IberiaBank Corp. John Fund, an editor of Wall Street Journal, will also speak at the conference. Travis Stice, president at Diamondback Energy, Kyle M. Hammond (CEO of FireWhel Energy), Bryan Sheffield, Parsley Energy, and Stan Weiner (director of NGL analysis at AES Water Solution) are some of the other speakers.
UT Permian Basin academic partnership program with the Wall Street Journal
The UT Permian Basin and the Wall Street Journal have announced their partnership. Students of UTPB will be eligible for an exclusive subscription to Wall Street Journal after they receive their UTPB account email. This partnership is possible because of the College of Business and J. Conrad Dungan Library.
The partnership will benefit students, nurses, and patients. The partnership will also allow nursing students to learn advanced techniques and new medical equipment. Combining two major healthcare organizations allows students to gain real-world experiences in a new and dynamic setting.
